Against all Johnson Jinx odds, the purchase of our
Normally, Hyrum does the dirty work of purchasing vehicles since I despise negotiations, but I really wanted this trailer and I wanted the purchase to finalize, so I didn't beat around the bush. I HATE calling people on the phone, but I wanted to jump on this opportunity, so I...texted the seller.
I know. I'm weird. I've come to terms with that. If you know me well, you've gotten past it also and realize that just because I don't call you, doesn't mean I don't care about you.
If I had to break down the negotiations into percentages, I'd say I negotiated our entire deal with 95% text, 3% face-to-face, 1% Facetime, and 1% phone calls. (Oh, and Hyrum pitched in for a little bit of help at the end.) Thankfully, the seller was 23 and used to texting. He delivered it to us today and I have to say, it's a thing of beauty sitting there waiting to be lived in. Here is a picture from when the seller bought it.
Being a Sierra brand, we can't help but think of Hyrum's cousin, Sierra, whenever we drive up to it.
The kids are in love with it as much as the adults. I ask you, what kid wouldn't want to sleep in a loft? There is a trap door in the loft floor with a ladder that takes you down to the playroom, and there is also a staircase. And even though it's the smallest of all places we've lived (aside from a semi), it has the biggest bed for Hyrum and I. This will be our first king size bed...ever. We shared a smaller-than-twin bed for two years in our semi days, so this feels enormous!
If you're in our neck-of-the-woods, come by for a tour. If you can't come by, you can view one like ours here. This video is of a family of 5 that lives full-time in their Treehouse. Ours is almost identical to theirs.
We will be moving permanently into our Treehouse just as soon as our long-awaited company is gone. Until then, we'll just visit it daily and dream.
